Support for the idea of 'characters' as a subset of accounts (as opposed to 'subaccounts' being real accounts connected together) is a core feature, along with several other roleplay-first features including 'in character' vs 'out of character' boards, complete with revised presentation to showcase the characters, topic invites, a character timeline builder and approvable character sheets.<br />

It was discontinued mostly due to a growing sense of perceived dissatisfaction with the roleplay scene, relating to the lack of interest of platforms beyond Jcink, much interpersonal drama in the scene that the StoryBB author would rather entirely avoid becoming part of, and a general observation that forums are dying.<br />
